When you enroll in “A Home of Your Own,”™ our specialists become your partner – guiding you through an easy process that starts with completing our online application and ends with you walking through the doors of your new home!

How “A Home of Your Own”™ works.

1. Request more information. Simply complete our online form and an affiliate FHA Mortgage Specialist will contact you.

2. Talk with our specialist about your housing needs. We’ll analyze how much you can comfortably afford to spend on your home – taking into account your monthly mortgage payment, property taxes, and homeowner’s insurance. With your OK, we’ll ask about your monthly income and expenses and whether you have credit card balances or personal loans.

3. Obtain a pre-approval. Our specialists will enter into our computer system all of the mortgage application data needed, except the address of your new home. The system will review your application according to FHA guidelines and return a result. Either you will be pre-approved immediately or your application will require further review by the credit department. If further review is needed, our specialist will contact you with daily updates or to ask additional questions, until we have a final answer.

4. Work with an affiliate real estate agent. Our FHA Mortgage Specialist will put you in touch with an affiliated agent in your area (unless you already have an agent you’d like to use). We’ll provide the agent with a copy of your pre-approval certificate. Then your agent will be ready to show you homes in your price range and in your desired neighborhoods.

5. Complete the closing process. Once you make an offer on a home and it’s accepted, our FHA Mortgage Specialist will walk you through the remainder of the process to the closing. Then you’ll be a homeowner – ready to move into your new home!
